Embroidered Garments Workshop

Join textile artist Deborah for a relaxing day of slow stitched decorative embroidery.  Do you have a favourite garment- for example a pair of jeans, a jacket or a shirt that you would like to further improve and embellish with some decorative embroidery? This workshop is suitable for complete beginner's as well as experienced embroiderers who want to take time to experiment. Don’t worry if you’re not experienced – Deborah will share some of her favourite stitches including split stitch, chain stitch, padded satin, decorative flowers, her favourite french knots. and plenty of inspiration. There will be images provided to use on the day but if you have a particular design you would like to use please bring that along.

A variety of threads will be provided on the day. You could bring any special buttons, threads or lace you may wish to include. You could bring your personal sewing kit.

All materials are provided but bring a garment you want to embroider - jacket, shirt, jeans etc. It is very unlikely that you will finish on the day. Slow stitch should be enjoyed and not rushed. 

The workshop will run from 10.00- 3.00

Full payment will be taken at time of booking (this is non-refundable or transferable to a different workshop). However, IF this workshop has to be cancelled you will of course receive a refund in full.

All materials and use of equipment are included; however, you could bring a few items to personalise the work (as listed above)

Please bring a packed lunch. However cold drinks, tea & coffee will be provided.

Under 16’s must be accompanied by a participating, paying adult.

Please be aware the workshop artists retain the intellectual property to their own ideas- you cannot go into business making, or running workshops showing copies of the artists’ work. You can however use the ideas for personal use and with your own students, if you are a teacher.
