Do you want to make or customise your own clothes but don’t have the confidence because you don’t know the basics?  Do you have a sewing machine that you have hardly or never used?


Would you like to learn how to sew and neaten seams,  sew hems and  attach fastenings? In this  SERIES of workshops Deborah Davis will show you how to go back to basics and make  small constructed samples that will be displayed in a
small sketchbook with the information provided.  You will learn the names of seams and hems  and where /how they are used. These will be the building blocks of making clothes or doing alterations.


All materials, threads and notions provided.

You can bring your own sewing machine or let us know if you will need us to provide one.

Book is not provided; you will need an A4 sketch or notebook.  Please bring a basic sewing kit if you have one.

This workshop is suitable for beginners or more experienced sewers.

The workshop runs from 10-4

Full payment will be taken at time of booking (this is non-refundable or transferable to a different workshop). However, IF this workshop has to be cancelled you will of course receive a refund in full.

Please bring a packed lunch. However cold drinks, tea & coffee will be provided.

Under 16’s must be accompanied by a participating, paying adult.


Please be aware the workshop artists retain the intellectual property to their own ideas- you cannot go into business making, or running workshops showing copies of the artists’ work. You can however use the ideas for personal
use and with your own students, if you are a teacher.
